Four Reasons to Sponsor A Midsummer Night's Green

USGBC National Capital Region’s A Midsummer Night’s Green has long been the premier summer networking event of the DC metro area green building community. This annual fundraising and networking reception attracts over 300 industry leaders and sustainability advocates from across the building industry for an evening in celebration of the Nation Capital Region’s Community Leader Award winners.

Scheduled for July 23rd, this year’s event marks both our 19th A Midsummer Night’s Green celebration, as well as an important first: A Midsummer Night’s Green will take place online AND will be free for USGBC members. While we will miss the excitement of seeing old friends and meeting new contacts in Arena Stage’s gorgeous atrium, we are also excited by the opportunities presented by a virtual event. An accessible digital platform enables participation from a wider range of stakeholders and sponsors, and makes it easier to showcase the people and projects who have lead the way in making the DMV an international leader in sustainable design, construction and operations. Our Awards Ceremony will include highlights of our award finalists and winners, prominent local speakers from local government, higher education and the development community, and local entertainers. The award program itself will be preceded by a VIP reception and followed by a virtual networking reception for all event attendees.

We invite you to play in important role in this highly-anticipated event and to show your leadership in the green building movement by signing on as a sponsor for A Midsummer Night’s Green. Below we’ve listed just a few of the biggest reasons why.

A Midsummer Night’s Green connects the biggest green building market in country, and now has an even greater reach in a virtual format.

A Midsummer Night’s Green has long served to connect the DMV’s green building community by bringing us together, and providing us with a platform to celebrate our shared successes and demonstrate our shared commitment to a healthier, sustainable and equitable future. The past few months have been a time of uncertainty and isolation for many, making this year’s A Midsummer Night’s Green’s role as this summer’s only gathering and celebration of green building even more vital to health and vitality of our community.

As an in-person event, A Midsummer Night’s Green annually draws 300+ attendees from across the region and across the industry, including architects, engineers, developers, general contractors, owners, consultants, government workers and manufacturers. This year, our online format allows us to reach an even greater audience with no long drives or traffic to contend with on the way to the Wharf neighborhood. With no venue costs, we’ve been able to reduce ticket prices for general admission and to make A Midsummer Night’s Green a free event for USGBC members, providing an additional draw to just the type of attendee that would be most interested to learn about your organization’s commitment to sustainability.

A Midsummer Night’s Green continues to offer the best marketing and branding opportunities in the DC area green building market, including expanded digital promotion benefits to amplify your organization’s exposure.

On top of a range of new digital benefits, in light of recent economic hardships experienced by so many in our industry, our current sponsorship packages come at our lowest price points in years, making them the best value amongst the many online events happening this summer.

In addition to logo and verbal recognition during the event itself, all sponsorship levels include branding and acknowledgement in USGBC NCR’s e-newsletter, on the USGBC website and event registration page, as well as USGBC NCR’s social media channels, producing tens of thousands of digital impressions. Higher sponsorship levels included unique branding opportunities and the option to participate as a speaker during the Awards Ceremony. This year’s online format has also allowed us to add the opportunity for the inclusion of sponsor videos during the program and the option of publishing full or half-page color ads in our digital event program, which will be sent to all event attendees and posted on our event website.

Our sponsors are event VIPs.

All sponsorship levels include complimentary tickets to the event as well as access to our exclusive VIP pre-event virtual reception. This reception is attended by industry leaders, including event speakers, award finalist project teams, and USGBC executives. Tickets and VIP reception access may be shared within your organization or offered to clients.

Now, more than ever, your support makes a difference in bringing better buildings and better lives to all in the DMV.

A Midsummer Night’s Green remains USGBC NCR’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Your sponsorship dollars support our staff and all our programming, including our green building education, advocacy and community service work. From our Connect and Learn education sessions to our Connect the Dots Green Schools Program, all that we do is made possible by the generosity and support of our members and sponsors. We hope you’ll join us in our mission to create a greener, healthier, more resilient and equitable tomorrow to all in the DMV.

For more information on sponsorship, including specific package benefits, see our sponsorship brochure. Mark Bryan, USGBC NCR’s Director, would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Signing on early allows you to get the most air-time out of your promotional benefits, so we encourage you not to wait. Join us in making this year’s A Midsummer Night’s Green a success!
